Whale Watching Faqs

During May – October on their annual migration, Humpback Whales generally pass within 3km’s of the Nelson Bay / Port Stephens coastline making it the ideal location for Whale Watching. These gentle giants can weigh up to 50 tonnes and measure between 14 & 18 metres in length. Humpbacks being the most surface active of all the whales, it is highly likely that you will see spectacular displays – spyhops, pectoral slaps, body rolls and … the breathtaking breach. Humpback Whales migrate Northwards ( May-July) then return heading South between Sept-Oct.
